37 years of Service

Providing security, love, discipline, and understanding from a caring, sensitive staff in a

 Christian atmosphere.

Our program stresses the development within a child of self-respect, self-reliance,

self-discipline and spiritual well-being in an atmosphere of informality, focused upon helping

the child to think for themselves and assume responsibility for their own actions.

NACCH is a Child Care Institute (CCI) licensed by the

State of Alabama to "foster" 16 children:

  • between the ages of 6 and 17
  • who are drug free
  • have no severe emotional or behavioral problems
  • and who need a caring and committed family that can bring them the future they deserve.

Placement of children under our care typically come from two main sources. As a "faith based" Residential

"foster" care facility, some may be recommended by local churches. However, the majority of our children

are in the custody of the state. In 2006, Alabama had 6,000 children in the custody of the state living in some

type of out-of-home setting. Approximately 4,100 of these children and youth live in traditional or therapeutic

Foster Family Homes. Although NACCH is licensed to accept children statewide, when possible, the county or

state placement agency attempts to assign children to a facility within a 40 mile radius of their immediate

family. On rare occasions, NACCH has received children from as far away as the Gulf Coast.
