(Known as child care workers, house parents or cottage parents)

Our "House Parents" and "Relief Staff" are vital to the success of our program. They are

expected to perform the major share of "caring" and counseling functions with the child while providing

on-going supervision. Children must be accepted as an individual; therefore, a non-judgmental

atmosphere that is sensitive to the needs and feelings of the child must be created. As with any "parent"

responsibilities, a primary duty is to provide assurance, support and help in terms the child can use in

their efforts to find and establish an identity for himself/herself.

    House Parent Qualifications

A high school diploma; or a GED certificate

Training or experience in child development issues.

Physical health adequate to participate, when appropriate, in the activities of children, as documented by the required medical examination.

Satisfactory results of a character, reference and suitability investigation.

Minimum age of 19 years old.
